I'm following along with the Red and white mystery quilt  designed by Brenda Papadakis and Gay  Bomers.  Blocks are released twice each month, so not a lot of work at once.
I've completed the blocks for the first 3 parts.

I can't believe I've just noticed that the big block at bottom right is sewn together wrong!  The corners should be rotated so that the solid red is in the corners.  Aaaagh.  It's paper pieced too, luckily I haven't taken the paper out yet, but it will surely shred when I take it apart- to fix or not to fix.  That is the question.

  1. Being challenged I went and looked at the pattern to see what the problem is...aaaah the squares should be in the corners not the triangles...you know what, I like it better your way. I look at yours and the centre star stands out and I see a whole block...I look at the pattern and my eyes just can't rest, it seems too busy...so I'd leave it, but that is just me and the real question is...can you live with it?

  3. your blocks look great, you aren't alone in flipping the corners on that block, I like it the way it is, the question is: are you a purist and want it to look the same as the original? Be careful with the next set, make sure you get the UPDATED set from Brenda's site, and read the info on printing to size, quite a few have had problems this week
