And it's done...

WOW, do I feel good.
Finally finished getting the top together for my Roll Roll Cotton Boll quilt by Bonnie Hunter. This was a mystery quilt started in about November last year, so finishing within 12 months isn't bad in my book.
Think I'll have to suffer defeat on the quilting front though.  It's one big quilt.  Just looking at it brings sweat to my brow with the thought of fitting it under my sewing machine.  Never happening.

I seriously love that pieced border.
Most of the quilt came from my resource library- otherwise known as my stash.  I only had to buy the green for the resting border and the red for the 17 trillion half square triangles and centre squares.  I just didn't have enough in one piece of either of them in my stash.
Feeling good about now!

  1. Awesome! You have every reason to feel good, that is a mighty effort...and it is gorgeous...

  2. Rightly so! Feeling good about this wonderful quilt is a well-deserved condition to be in. It's really great, Kerry! I'm so happy for you to be finished with the top - and a tad bit envious. I hope to be getting there myself in the next couple months. I love your colors. It's amazing how different pinks and reds we have. They can change the entire look of the quilt. And I'm extremely encouraged to know you like the pieced border, which looks so daunting to me right now. So what will you do to get it quilted (tied?)?

  3. A mere 17 million HST's, eh? heehee I'm currently working on the Civil War Chronicles that I believe, at last count, has the exact same amount of HST's :-) Beautiful, beautiful top!!

  4. It's just beautiful. I was able to do my entire quilt from my stash...a good feeling. You are right that is one big quilt. I went back and looked, and she did post the finished size, but I must have just glossed over it. I'm going to add another border on the outside of the pieced one, and it will fit our king sized bed with a bit of room to spare. Congratulations on getting it all put together.
